The focus becomes visibility at any cost, while a deeper opportunity to create a relationship with the audience is overlooked. We think the loudest launch is simply most effective, when really, it’s the launch that delivers the most transformation that wins.

Story: Invite Connection Before Conversion

Facts and features rarely move people into action, but stories do. A transformational launch doesn’t just speak to what’s being offered, but why it matters to the audience.

One launch event, for example, included a session where the host shared their entrepreneurial journey in full for the very first time. Up until that point, attendees had expected only tactical takeaways. But instead, it was the story, lessons, and mindset shifts that created the deepest connection in the room.

Guests later reflected that it was the personal narrative, not the strategy, that opened new possibilities for themselves. That’s because a launch rooted in story invites the audience in. It allows them to see themselves in your vision, oftentimes forming a sacred relationship that isn’t possible to create in the digital realm.

Strategy: Create an Arc of Experience

Transformation doesn’t happen by accident, it requires an intentional arc that guides participants from arrival to integration.

Consider the impact of designing a rhythm of short teaching sessions, networking breaks, and shared meals. One event began with a fast-win workshop on crafting an elevator pitch, giving participants a chance to practice immediately. Lunch was scheduled early, before hunger dulled focus, and the afternoon was reserved for deeper sessions. This pacing kept the energy high, encouraged connection, and allowed learning to land without creating overwhelm.

The result was a room buzzing with conversation and momentum. Guests weren’t just seated and listening; they were engaged, practicing, and connecting. That intentional arc: open → learn → connect → deepen → integrate, made the day feel alive, not linear.

Without strategy, launches feel scattered, but with it, they become journeys participants remember long after the moment has passed.

Ritual: Anchor the New Identity

What turns an event into a memory is ritual, the intentional act that marks the transition from “before” to “after.”

At one launch event, participants closed their eyes and were guided through a visualization of their next-level brand identity. The exercise was simple, but it shifted the energy of the room from information into embodiment. This reinforces the differentiation between a simple networking event and a transformational launch – attendees don’t leave with just notes and business cards, but with an anchored sense of possibility.

Ritual doesn’t have to be elaborate. It could be a visualization, a symbolic object to take home, or a collective acknowledgment. What matters is that it closes the loop and signals that something meaningful has begun.

The Bigger Truth

A launch is not only about unveiling something new. It is an initiation for the work, for the community, and for the leader stepping into their next chapter.

When story, strategy, and ritual come together, a launch ceases to be a transactional announcement. It instead becomes a transformative experience that ripples outward in new clients, expanded visibility, and stronger community bonds.

And the best part? It doesn’t take thousands in the room or thousands in budget.

Even a small, thoughtfully designed gathering can spark momentum that outpaces its scale, because transformation is not measured in headcount, it’s measured in resonance.

Don’t Rush Into Building a Community

Bri cautioned against jumping into community offers too quickly. In the first few years of business, most of us are still figuring out who we serve, what our process looks like, and how to deliver consistent results.

“It took me four years to refine my niche. You can’t rush that process.”

Instead of trying to “build the plane while flying it,” she recommends getting grounded in your services first. Once you have clarity and energy, then experiment with community models.

The Four Types of Communities

Bri uses a simple matrix to explain community models:

• Education vs. Connection (on one axis)

• Free vs. Paid (on the other)

From this, four clear types emerge:

• Nurturing Communities (free + education)

• Transformative Communities (paid + education)

• Engagement Communities (free + connection)

• Affinity Communities (paid + connection)

Each type has strengths and challenges. What matters is aligning the model with both your goals and the value your members are seeking.

Audience vs. Community

A key distinction Bri stressed: an audience is one-to-many, but a community is many-to-many.

Substack newsletters, for instance, often lean audience-first. Turning that into true community requires intentionally shifting the focus so members begin interacting with one another, not just with the host.

Simple steps:

• Encourage member-led chats and discussions.

• Model the kind of sharing you’d like to see.

• Create small prompts that gradually build culture.

Recognition Beats Rewards

When it comes to engagement, recognition is more powerful than money. People thrive when their contributions are acknowledged.

That recognition can look like:

• Spotlighting members publicly.

• Thanking them for consistent contributions.

• Inviting them to share their expertise in a session.

Gamification features can help, but Bri emphasized that they only work if they reward behaviors that truly add value to the community.

Start With Your Sweet Spot

Bri’s final advice was simple: build the kind of community you actually enjoy running.

If you thrive on events, lean into event series. If content lights you up, start there. If connection is your gift, design systems where members can connect with one another.

Community is a long game. It has to give you life in order to work.

In those moments, the answers rarely come from more analysis. They emerge when we slow down, listen, and reconnect with the deeper wisdom of the body and voice.

One woman once shared with me how she was caught in this exact state—tangled in logistics, unable to begin. When she finally paused and allowed herself to hum the sound of her frustration, she was surprised to hear a single word rise within her: simplify. Suddenly the path forward became obvious: start small, with one clear step, instead of building an entire complex structure at once.

These turning points aren’t rare. They’re reminders that while we’ve been conditioned to get strategic, make lists, and push harder, the clearest wisdom is often already inside us, waiting for space to emerge.

Your Voice Isn't Just for Speaking: It's a Channel for Your Soul’s Purpose

Your voice is the ultimate tool for embodiment. You can have the most earth-shattering idea, but if your voice—your vibrational frequency—is blocked, your message won't land. The trust and safety you need to listen to your inner guidance is the same trust needed for your voice to truly show up.

Three Ways to Reclaim Your Voice and Unlock Your Channel

1. Listen, Don’t Push.

You’ve likely (like me) been encouraged or even trained to push our voices and opinions out into the world. But a channel that is forced is a channel that is constricted. The next time you feel stuck or unsure what to say, don't try to push. Instead, try this: get quiet and listen. Ask yourself: "What truly wants to be said right now?" This simple act creates a safe, internal space for your voice to emerge without force or agenda.

2. The Body Is the Guide.

Your physical body is constantly giving you clues about your energetic flow. Pay attention to sensations.

Feel a tightness in your throat or chest when you think about a certain project or speaking in public?

That physical tension is a clear signal of an energetic block. When you notice this, you can gently place a hand on that area and simply breathe, sending warmth and presence to that space. Your work isn't to fix it; it's to create the space for it to release.

An example to illustrate:
I had a client who was a gifted singer with a lot of anxiety about performing. She would get a blocked throat when she even thought about singing in front of anyone. Through our work, we discovered that if she admitted her fear—to herself and even occasionally to her audience—the anxiety and blocks would dissolve, almost instantly! Her expressive issues were more about speaking her truth and feeling safe to voice her vulnerability than they were about performing. This gave her the freedom to be wholly herself, both on and off the stage.

So here’s an invitation to get curious about the physical sensations that come up! They likely will carry information that’s unexpected or surprising, and they’ll always contain insight.

3. Move Beyond Words.

The most powerful messages don't always need words. If you feel hesitant to speak or sing, start with a simple sound. Take a breath and let out a gentle sigh or a soft hum. This simple act uses sound to move energy in the body, clearing the pathway for your voice to flow more freely.

If you’re up for a bonus, try this extra step: as you hum or tone, imagine the sound coming from your heart, and allow it to take whatever shape it wants—a little tune, a simple note, or a gentle melody. Don’t try to shape it, just see what wants to come.

This isn’t about being a “good” singer; it’s about using your voice as an instrument of authentic expression. It’s intentionally connecting your heart to your voice, while letting their wisdom guide you. So often, we connect these parts, then let the brain take over.

The truth is, your voice has the potential to be both a compass for your soul AND an irresistible invitation for your ideal people & opportunities to come to you. When you embody your voice fully, you don't need to choose which part of yourself to show up with, your authentic frequency naturally radiates all of your gifts.

And when you lead from that place of uninhibited self-expression, your business and your life becomes not a struggle, but an effortless and magnetic expression of your truth.

There’s this moment I keep returning to. It was a regular morning at the office, many years ago.

My team and I were pushing through a tough project. All the KPIs were scarlet red and everyone was on edge but focused.

Delays, cost overruns, and a messy scope had turned the contract into an open bar for client demands. Everybody was on edge but focused.

All of a sudden, our project director called an impromptu meeting in his office. We slowly gathered around his desk.

With a stern look on his face, he said, “It’s too hard, we’re never gonna make it.” We looked at each other, perplexed.

We waited for the pep talk, the inspiring bit. It never came.

After some sighing, some yelling, and some ranting, he repeated: “I’m telling you. We are never going to make it”.

He didn’t have a plan, or a decision. Not even an announcement. The project wasn’t canceled. He wasn’t stepping down.

We were still expected to carry on.

It was, essentially, a demotivation meeting.

As a result, a dozen of us walked out feeling deflated.

I was fresh out of college and inexperienced. But this I knew with certainty:

This was not leadership.

That day, I learned a valuable lesson by counterexample:

Emotional intelligence isn’t optional. It’s not a nice-to-have.

It’s the difference between turning a project around, or running it into the ground.

Emotional Intelligence: The Golden Lever

The term “Emotional Intelligence” was popularized in 1995 by Daniel Goleman in his groundbreaking book “Emotional Intelligence, Why It Can Matter More Than IQ.”

It’s a set of skills that allows us to recognize emotions, manage our reactions and connect with others.

Research has found that high achievers and top-performing leaders score higher in emotional intelligence. They also tend to make better decisions and earn more, on average.

So, whatever your goal, boosting sales, changing mindsets, or planting trees—real impact starts with emotional intelligence.

Because the true levers of influence are, first and foremost, emotional.

Just like anything else, some of us are naturally well-equipped in this area thanks to genetics and upbringing. Others, not so much.

But here’s the good news:

This skill set isn’t fixed. Just like a muscle, it can be trained.

Training The Emotional Muscle

Over the past ten years, I’ve taken on project management and sales roles that rely heavily on an ability to collaborate, persuade, and connect with others.

Along the way, I gathered a set of tools that I often return to and that consistently helped me achieve the impact I was aiming for.

Every single one of them is related to Emotional Intelligence. But before I share my favorite, there’s one point I’d like to emphasize:

None of these tools matter if they don’t come from a place of genuine care. Humans evolved to be remarkably good at spotting signs of deceit.

And when someone fakes interest just to spark connection for personal gain, that’s not leadership. It’s manipulation.

So if you want to grow your influence with integrity, here are five emotional intelligence practices to elevate how you lead, sell, create, and collaborate.

1 - Say People’s Names:

In his classic book “How to Win Friends and Influence People”, Dale Carnegie says that “a person's name is to that person, the sweetest, most important sound in any language.”

So many of us already do this unconsciously. I always greet people by making eye contact and saying their name if I know it, even if I’m not close to that person.

Even if it’s a little bit awkward that I remember it. Saying someone’s name might seem trivial. Believe me, it’s not.

What it actually conveys to the other person is: “I see you”, “I acknowledge you”, “You matter.”

2 - Emotional Empathy:

We empathize when we step out of our emotional experience to meet someone in theirs.

And when we do, something powerful happens.

Our brains (literally) sync up, aligning their activity patterns, which leads to a deeper connection at an almost instinctive level.

Showing someone that we understand their feelings is incredibly validating.

And because humans are wired to give back, it leads that person to open up more, listen more closely, and problem-solve together.

All awesome ingredients for collaborative work and positive impact.

3 - Cognitive Empathy:

Cognitive empathy is the ability to understand another person’s reality.

It’s our capacity to tune into their perspective and see where they’re coming from.

This allows us to select the right structures, vocabulary, and analogies, to ensure our message lands with them and drives collaboration.

It can be as simple as avoiding industry jargon when we know someone comes from a different background. Or taking the time to truly understand their point of view, before jumping in with counterarguments.

4 - To Be Interesting, Be Interested:

When we think of magnetic people, we imagine their charisma, eloquence, and sense of humor.

All these play a big role, but that’s not all there is to it. They also look you in the eyes, ask you questions, mirror your facial expressions.

They make you feel seen.

Think of Oprah and her legendary ability to connect with her interviewees. “What did that moment feel like for you?”, she’d ask with a look of genuine concern.

She listens deeply, fully present. Her body language says “I’m here with you in this moment.”

With our constantly buzzing phones, and shortening attention spans, we seldom gift others our full attention.

But without it, you may miss what clients really need.

Leaders fail to build trust. Creators lose touch with what deeply resonates.

There are a few simple things you can start doing to become a much better listener today:

Put your phone away. Make eye-contact. Take notes.

Don’t interrupt with your own story. Nod, smile when they smile.

Ask follow-up questions. To be interesting, be interested.

5 - Empathic Concern:

I’ve left this for last on purpose as I believe it’s the most impactful of the five.

Empathic concern simply means truly caring about others.

Our ability to approach our relationships with the proper amount of authentic care is a powerhouse for building rapport and trust.

The leader who thoughtfully considers her team’s well-being.

The entrepreneur who crafts the perfect customer experience.

The coworker who notices your dark circles and suggests a coffee chat.

This is what makes the difference between a team that’s all-in, or quiet quitting.

Clients that rave about you, come back and bring their friends, or leave tasteless 3-star reviews.

Caring about others is an impact amplifier that should never be ignored.

The Ripple Effect

What I love about these practices is that, although the initial motivation might be to become more successful in the professional sphere, they have ripple effects that can fundamentally transform other areas of our lives too.

Humans are social beings, and the quality of our relationships is a strong predictor of our overall life satisfaction.

Saying people’s names, tuning into emotions, seeing different perspectives, listening deeply, and showing genuine concern: these are simple levers you can pull anytime, anywhere.

Practice them authentically, and you’ll be unstoppable.

As someone who also writes, creates, and coaches others on how to build consistency, I found his story, and his practical systems, worth sharing with a broader lens. Below, I’ve pulled out some of the biggest gems we uncovered.

📘 The Surprising Origin of Happy Habits

Gunnar shared that the inspiration struck on a beach in Sydney after reading just 15 minutes of a book on discipline. That moment turned into a goal: write a focused, practical book by July 28, his late father's birthday and (fittingly) his 28th book.

This combination of meaningful timing and personal accountability became a powerful anchor, something we could all use when starting creative projects.

✅ The 4P Habit Framework (with a Twist)

If you’ve read Atomic Habits, you’ll be familiar with some of the foundations. But Gunnar added something I don’t often hear emphasized: partnership.

Here’s his version of the framework:

• Pause – Let life’s interruptions become opportunities

• Plan – Make habits visible, simple, and time-bound

• Practice – Focus on consistency, not perfection

• Partner – Share goals, find accountability, collaborate

“Most habit books overlook partnership, but that’s often the missing piece to succeed.”

This really resonated with me. Whether it’s writing together, joining a fundraising challenge, or just telling someone your goal, doing things with others adds stickiness to your habits.

🧠 Writing Tips from a Prolific Author

I asked Gunnar how he keeps up the pace of writing nearly one book per year. His answer?

“I write my books backwards.”

Here’s what that means:

• Start with the outcome: What do I want the reader to feel or do?

• Plan the launch: What’s the event or milestone?

• Then build the book to hit that deadline.

This strategy, paired with small daily writing windows (30 minutes a day) and removing distractions (like hiding Instagram), allowed him to finish Happy Habits in just 42 days.

📚 A Series for Today’s Attention Spans

Happy Habits is just the first in a 7-part series of short, focused reads, each tackling a unique theme like:

• Brainstorm Buddy (AI-powered ideation)

• Digital Dementia (navigating tech overwhelm)

• Attention Addiction (rethinking how we scroll)

What I appreciate is his intentionality: shorter books, made to be actually read, not just bought. Gunnar mentions the author J.R. Heimbigner, The Minimalist Author on Substack, who teaches how to write multiple books by focusing on one topic at a time. Each book is concise, often just 60 to 80 pages.

🔄 When You’re Stuck, Don’t Stop—Pivot

One of my favorite parts of our chat was how Gunnar addressed writer’s block. He doesn’t force it, instead, he works around it:

• Do book-related tasks like gathering early readers or prepping a launch email

• Give yourself two choices: Write Book A or Book B (instead of “write or don’t write”)

• Stack habits: Add a small task to something you already do

🧍 Identity Before Action

We wrapped the session reflecting on identity. Gunnar reminded us that great habits aren’t just about doing more, they’re about becoming more.

“Good habits don’t just change your to-do list. They change how you see yourself.”

You don’t “try” to write a book. You become a writer.
You don’t “make time” for movement. You become someone who moves daily.

This is a core principle I deeply believe in too. True transformation comes not from effort alone, but from aligning your actions with who you want to be.

Why Retreats? Why Now? Why You?

Most people thrive in community and crave community. We are wired for connection, conversation, and collaboration. When you bring a group of like-minded people together in a retreat setting — away from the distractions of day-to-day life — something magical happens. Bonds form. Breakthroughs unfold. Businesses and lives change forever.

Whether you’re a coach, consultant, healer, speaker, or service-based entrepreneur, adding retreats to your offerings is a smart, soul-nourishing revenue stream. You get paid to build community, facilitate transformation, and be of service — all while enjoying beautiful spaces, places, and energizing experiences.

Step 1: Plan with Purpose

Before you pick a venue or design your schedule, get clear on the “why” behind your retreat.

• Who is this for? (Answer: your ideal clients, of course.)
• What is the learning, new skills, or transformation they’ll walk away with?
• What’s the theme, focus, or core promise of your retreat?

Your retreat must have a clear mission — whether that’s personal growth, business acceleration, wellness, creativity, leadership development, or masterminding. Once you have clarity on the desired outcome, build everything else around it.

Step 2: Design an Uplifting and Transformational Experience

Structure matters — and so does flow. You want a mix of education, inspiration, connection, rejuvenation, fun, and surprises.

Here’s what I always make sure to include to ensure a successful retreat:

• Education: Provide valuable content and tools participants can apply when they return home. Education can also mean introducing them to local culture or new activities. On our cruise retreats, every day we do something different — tai chi, belly dancing, cheering, self-defense, cardio drumming. The idea is for participants to experience something new.

• Inspiration: Share your story. Have your participants share theirs, as well as client wins. Teach fresh ideas that create mindset shifts. A simple and powerful exercise is to have your guests tell each other something positive they see in the others.

• Connection: Build in partner shares, group circles, and intentional mingling. For example, have everyone dine with different people each evening so everyone meets. As the leader, it’s your job to facilitate connection — don’t leave it to chance.

• Transformation: This happens when retreat participants see themselves differently. When they return home more confident, bolder, and better able to speak up — that’s true transformation. Incorporate visioning, journaling, and space to share and be witnessed in their desires.

• Rejuvenation: Include time for rest, reflection, and play. We’ve done group karaoke, snorkeling, silent disco, collaging, trivia, and more — always with the intention of joy. Super tip: Let participants know this is their retreat and all activities are optional. Most will participate anyway, but knowing they have a choice gives them freedom to rest or recharge when needed.

• A Clear Path Forward: Be sure every attendee leaves with a plan to implement what they learned. Set aside time near the end for them to create their own action plans.

Don’t forget: Start and end each day with an intention-setting or check-in. Evening reflections help anchor the experience and deepen learning.

Step 3: Select the Right Venue

The venue sets the tone. It doesn’t have to be a luxury resort — but it must be clean, nurturing, and aligned with your mission.

Look for natural light, comfy chairs, and a flexible space. Ask about food, A/V, and accessibility. If possible, visit in person or request photos and videos.

Super Tip: For your first retreat, choose a local, driveable location. A close-to-home event makes planning and profiting easier.

Step 4: Fill Your Retreat with Ease and Authenticity

You don’t need to “sell” your retreat, simply take the time to personally invite the people you want there at your retreat.

Start with your best clients and offer VIP perks. Give referral bonuses to partners. Speak at events and share your retreat as the next step.

Promote consistently with email, calls, and personal outreach. Use social media to create buzz. The goal? FOMO. Make people want to be there by sharing irresistible moments and transformations.

Start early. Talk about it often. Let your community know how fun, enriching, and impactful it will be — and how their presence will elevate everyone else’s experience.

Step 5: Profit with Integrity and a Genuine Desire to Serve

Retreats aren’t just about the initial registration. They’re about building long-term trust and client relationships.

“Seed” your next offer during your retreat. Then make a generous, clear invitation. Keep it heart-centered and aligned — not pushy.

When you lead from service, your offer becomes an extension of the transformation. And that’s when clients joyfully say “yes.”

Remember: Selling is service. Don’t let the transformation end on the last day — show attendees how to continue thriving with your support.

Final Thoughts: You Are Ready

You don’t need a big list, a massive following, or a perfect plan. There are many people already in your orbit. They’re watching. They’re waiting.

You already know how to gather, lead, and serve. Start with what you have. Set a date. Pick a place. Choose a topic. And begin inviting.

Once they come, they won’t forget it. And they’ll be back for more.

You deserve to bliss in your business. And your attendees deserve to grow, thrive, and be empowered through your leadership.

1. Authenticity Lives in the Moment

Live events are unscripted. They don’t come with filters, edits, or prompts. They’re shaped in real time by the people who show up and the energy they bring. Whether it’s an art exhibit, a concert, a talk, or a workshop, the authenticity of being in a shared space.

It is magic in a way being in the same space at the same time and meeting someone special who will make an impact on your personal or professional life, or just become a great connection or friend. This experience can not be simulated by AI. It is true and is irreplaceable.

This authenticity matters. In an age where deepfakes and AI-generated content are proliferating, people crave realness. They want stories that haven’t been auto-tuned or ChatGPT’d to perfection. They want to feel something raw, unscripted, and human.

You’re seeing faces, hearing voices, sensing body language, and engaging in spontaneous conversation. These multisensory experiences foster dopamine release, lower cortisol levels, and build the emotional scaffolding that supports mental health.

Isolation, by contrast, does the opposite. Virtual convenience has given rise to a culture of opting out. Why go to an event when you can just livestream it? Why attend a gallery opening when you can scroll through the photos later?

From Networking Expert to Book Launch Coach (by Accident or Fate)

Robbie didn’t plan to become a book strategist. In fact, he resisted it.

“I was known for running successful launches... but I was trying to become a networking expert. I didn’t want the book launch label.”

It wasn’t until a conversation with his mentor, Dorie Clark - who asked him for the third time why he wasn’t a book launch coach - that something clicked. “I finally said, ‘Why not?’” he shared.

I won’t deny that starting to collaborate was easy for me, because my fiancé had created his first digital products years ago and was my first collaboration partner.

Our first project together was a video course.

He had deep experience with course creation, but no audience—I had the audience but no product. When we teamed up, we were able to combine our strengths.

Looking back, I know I couldn’t have built those first courses without him. His systems, structure, and tech knowledge gave me the momentum I needed. And together, we started a business that’s now impacting thousands of creators.

In early 2024, Jari Roomer officially joined our team.

What started as a simple affiliate partnership evolved into something much bigger after we moved to Substack.

Today, we run the entire publication and business as a 3-person team.

What made this partnership work so well from the start was alignment: in values, goals, and how we want to live our lives.

We’re all ambitious, but we prioritize freedom, flexibility, and mental clarity.

None of us wants to scale at the cost of our health or sanity. And that shared foundation has helped us build trust and momentum that wouldn’t be possible otherwise.

Today, the three of us run together, a Substack publication, business, and community for creators who want to grow with intention. And one of the most important lessons we keep coming back to is this:

Collaboration is a superpower. Especially for multidimensional creators.

When you have a wide range of ideas, passions, and interests, it’s easy to feel pulled in too many directions.

But collaboration gives you space to focus on what you’re great at, while trusting someone else to carry a different part of the load.

It also forces you to level up.

When I commit to a partner, I show up differently. I take deadlines more seriously. I hold myself to a higher standard.

That mindset has helped us grow faster than we could’ve done solo.

We each have clearly defined roles and areas of ownership. So instead of moving linearly, we move in parallel. And that’s allowed us to ship more, test more, and help more people, without burning out.

But our teamwork at is only the tip of the iceberg because we constantly run collaborative projects with other creators to grow our audience and impact.

For instance, every time we launch a new product, we offer an affiliate program that allows our partners to promote our free or paid offers and earn a commission.

However, we're also always on the lookout for partners to host events for our private community or conduct live streams and interviews for our audience.

While these are the simpler and obvious ways to collaborate, we also think outside of the box. For example, we co-created and launched an entire book called 10k Secrets earlier this year, a joint project with over ten other writers.

3 Lessons I’ve Learned About Collaboration the Hard Way

1. Listen to your gut.
The most important lesson I’ve learned about collaborations is that they only work when the relationship feels right. If you dread a meeting, second-guess every conversation, or feel drained after working together, it’s a sign to quit sooner rather than later. You don’t need a logical reason to walk away. Your energy is the best filter.

2. Track outcomes, even when there’s trust.
Trust is a beautiful starting point for a collaboration, but it shouldn’t be the only system. During our 10k Secrets collaboration, we didn’t track results, which led to missed opportunities. Ever since, we’ve learned to set clear expectations and track performance where possible, not to micromanage, but to make sure the partnership is mutually beneficial.

3. Collaboration isn’t one-size-fits-all.
There are endless ways to collaborate, and the “best” one depends on your goals, strengths, and business model. You might start with something simple, like a guest post or newsletter swap. Or you might go all-in with a shared product, publication, or business. Magic happens when you tailor the partnership to work for everyone involved.

And that’s the beauty and challenge of collaboration: it stretches you.

You’re forced to rethink your blind spots.

To get outside your usual routines.

And to communicate more effectively than you would if you were doing it all yourself.

You also stay more inspired by being surrounded by people doing exciting things, no matter if it’s a co-founder, a guest post partner, or someone you're launching with.

At , we genuinely believe there is no competition in the creator space.

Every creator is either a potential partner or simply not relevant to our business. We’re not worried about someone “stealing” our audience. We’re too busy baking a bigger pie together with people who are fun to work with and committed to making the world a better place.

• What do I want to experience more of?

• What part of me have I been neglecting?

Try this:

Each night, identify one moment of alignment from your day. Maybe it’s a deep breath, a conversation, or the fact that you honored a boundary. These micro-moments retrain your brain to recognize what is already working. I watch my kids fighting over who’s going to do the dishes and laugh at their antics as I remind myself that we have a house, running water, and family around us.

3. Expectancy: Step Into Possibility

Expectancy is choosing to believe that more is possible. It’s allowing space for your dreams, even before you know how to reach them.

Ask:

• What have I stopped hoping for because I was too tired to imagine it?

• What would I love to experience six months from now?

• What does it look like to say yes to myself?

Try this:

Write down one small desire you’ve been putting off. Schedule it into your week. Maybe it’s reconnecting with a passion project, setting a meeting with a mentor, or blocking 30 minutes for yourself. Do something. Do one thing that brings you closer. Acting on it is a signal to yourself: “I matter too.”

From Extraction to Expansion

This process doesn’t require perfection. Just presence.

Though their causes and cultures were different, all three embodied the truth that one’s energy can communicate compassion, courage, and peace more powerfully than any carefully crafted message.

Their energy became inseparable from their legacy.

The leaders and healers who truly endure in our memories aren’t those with perfect technique, but those whose presence made people feel something meaningful.

Energetic Alignment Is Part of Your Voice

In the world of public speaking, the focus is usually on performance. We learn how to project our voices, refine our body language, and deliver our message with clarity.

Those skills are important. But they are the second layer.

The first layer is energetic alignment: the degree to which your internal state matches the message you want to express.

If you’re trying to inspire others to take a leap while your own energy is stuck, people will sense the incongruence. If you’re inviting collaboration but secretly harbor scarcity or competition, it shows up in the field between you.

No amount of practiced delivery can fully override that.

Are you aware of what your energy is saying?

Practicing Integrity

• Do you truly believe what you are saying?

• Are you grounded in your own worth, or are you seeking validation to prop it up?

When you share from a place of peace, authenticity, and clear intention, whether it’s to inspire, connect, or simply express, people can feel it.

You naturally create a safe environment. People can sense when you’re anchored in sincerity versus when you’re stretching the truth or unsure with your own message.

Having Energetic Presence Is More Than Visualization

It can be tempting to think of energetic presence as simply picturing yourself calm or imagining light filling the room. While visualizing yourself radiant can certainly help, it’s only a small part of the equation.

1. Cultivating a spiritual practice to connect with yourself is one foundational layer. This doesn’t have to look a certain way—it could be prayer, meditation, journaling, or simply sitting quietly and listening for the wisdom beneath the surface noise of your thoughts. When you create intentional space you begin to receive insights and guidance that go beyond your conscious mind. This deeper understanding helps you clarify the message you’re here to share.

2. I find that expanding your capacity to receive support, appreciation and even admiration can really help you feel comfortable in your own skin. When you can accept acknowledgment with an open heart, you’re communicating your inherent worthiness. You no longer have to armor yourself against the vulnerability of being seen and instead are willing to show up fully and even expect to be celebrated.

3. Another essential layer is releasing the old stories you’ve told yourself about who you are and what you’re allowed to express. If you’re subconsciously carrying beliefs like “I have to prove my worth,” or “My voice doesn’t matter,” those narratives will shape your energy. They live in the micro-expressions in your body and on your face. You have to excavate from where these beliefs originated and change the script that you’ve told yourself.

4. You also need to tend to your nervous system in daily life. Practices like breathwork, meditation, mindful movement, and time in nature can help you build a foundation of regulation so that you feel safer in your body. When your system is resourced and grounded, it’s easier to naturally emit a clear, steady presence.

Why the answer isn’t more tools—it’s deeper clarity

As an entrepreneur, you might have experienced this: you're in a group or mastermind for entrepreneurs, and women are sharing their “tech stacks, systems and workflows" that involve managing multiple dashboards, toggling between tabs, updating links, checking analytics and troubleshooting glitches all before 9 AM. Your sensitive nervous system immediately starts spiraling. Why are they using that software? Am I doing this wrong? Should I be tracking more metrics? What if I'm missing something crucial?

Before you know it, you're three free trials deep into productivity apps that promise to "revolutionize your workflow," and you end up spending more time learning new systems than actually serving your clients.

If there’s one thing my experience has taught me, it’s this: Your success has nothing to do with your tool stack and everything to do with your inner compass. When you master who you are, your message, your values and your capacity, you stop needing external validation from the latest shiny app. This leads you to develop an intuitive knowing about what serves you and what doesn't, so that you can recognize when a tool genuinely supports your vision.

Proof That Less Really Is More

Let me tell you about Elisabeth Worth. She built a multi-six-figure business with what most business coaches would call "impossible simplicity." No sales calls. No funnel. No CRM, scheduling software, or social media management tools.

Her entire tech stack? Substack and a payment processor.

Her entire strategy? Writing one powerful post each week.

Choosing tools from alignment instead of lack

When you develop deep self-trust, choosing tools becomes intuitive rather than overwhelming. You know your rhythms, your capacity, your non-negotiables. You can feel in your body when something is aligned versus when it's just adding noise.

I learned this lesson the hard way. Over the years, I've spent A LOT of time learning a variety of different tools and platforms. I was convinced that each one would be "THE ONE" I needed. ConvertKit, then Mailchimp, then back to ConvertKit. Kajabi, then Teachable, then Circle for community. Notion, then Airtable, then back to Notion. The list goes on.

So much time was diverted away from rooting myself in the important things, that I got lost in that searching, endless optimization, and the belief that the perfect tool would somehow unlock my potential. I didn't have the time to allow myself to simply be —to create, to offer what I had to the people who needed me.

I knew I needed to slow down, simplify, and focus my efforts. I had to stop rushing toward the next platform, the next feature, the next promise of easier success.

When I heard about Substack, I felt something inside me say "yes." What unfolded was a revelation: a platform that honors the way highly sensitive people actually want to create. No rushing, no pressure to be "on" constantly. You can craft your thoughts carefully, share through writing or audio, build community through gentle conversation.

Email lists grow naturally, subscribers can support your work directly, and authentic connection happens without force. It's everything you need and nothing you don't. This is why I've chosen to pivot my focus here, and it's been liberating.

Now, all I use is Substack, Pinterest, Stripe and Beacons (an all-in-one platform offering website, link in bio, email marketing & automations, course hosting, digital storefront, CRM). These are simple, effective and all of them with the exception of Beacons (although it also does have a free option) are of no cost!

The mental bandwidth I used to spend juggling multiple platforms is now available for what matters: connecting with you, creating content that serves, and trusting my inner guidance about what to share next.

And I'm not the only one; other sensitive women entrepreneurs here are doing the same thing. We're choosing simplicity over complexity, depth over breadth, presence over productivity hacks.

When you stop fighting against your nature and start choosing tools that support how you're actually wired, everything becomes easier. Your creativity flourishes. Your message becomes clearer. Your capacity to serve expands because you're not scattered across seventeen different platforms.

Building From the Inside Out

Here's what I want you to consider: Instead of asking "What tools do I need?" start asking "Who am I becoming, and what do I need to support that growth?"

If your business is an offering of your genius in service to others, then it's an extension of your being. When you honor your sensitive nature, trust your instincts, and build at a pace that feels sustainable, you create something infinitely more powerful than any app could provide: authentic alignment.

The real work isn't finding the perfect tool stack. It's developing the self-trust to know what you need, when you need it, and when to say no to everything else. It's building the capacity to hold your growing vision without losing yourself in the process.

From this place of deep self-knowing, the right tools reveal themselves naturally. You're not choosing based on fear or comparison, but from an inner wisdom about what truly serves your mission.

The entrepreneur who changes the world isn't the one with the most sophisticated systems—it's the one brave enough to show up authentically, with whatever tools feel aligned in the moment.

Once I mastered something, I was ready for the next. That multi-passionate energy wasn’t always celebrated in traditional work environments.

Instead, I felt boxed in. Held in one lane. My full skillset, creativity, and insights? They were often left on the sidelines.

Even in the entrepreneurial world, I saw this same pattern emerge. The advice? “Niche down.” “Be known for one thing.” And yes, for some, that works beautifully. But for someone like me, that meant cutting off parts of myself. Every time I followed that model, I’d outgrow it… and have to rebuild again from scratch.

I know I’m not alone in this.

The Hidden Cost of Narrow Branding & Messaging

Recently, I reconnected with , I’d known from a few years ago. Back then, she led an online bundle I was part of—and that’s all I associated her with. But three years later, I learned she’s a hypnotist, a collaboration strategist, and so much more. Yet, she felt trapped by her old brand—the one she built too narrowly.

How often do we do this to ourselves? Market one skill, one service, one offer—only to feel frustrated when people can’t see beyond it?

Here’s the truth: you can have focused offers without boxing in your identity. You can create specific, niche-aligned programs and still be known as a multidimensional personal brand.

From Comfort to Calling: Crafting a Message That Grows With You

If you’re stuck in messaging that feels like your past self, it’s time to pause and reflect. Your message should evolve as you do.

Here’s what I recommend:

• Stop looking sideways. It’s tempting to model your brand on what others are doing - but your path is unique. Trying to copy someone else’s success formula often leads to a message that feels hollow and disconnected.

• Listen inward. Instead of rushing to build the next “offer,” cultivate practices that reconnect you to your truth. Meditation, journaling, or intuitive exercises can help you receive insights that actually belong to you.

• Discern divine clues. Sometimes messages arrive through synchronicities, conversations, or subtle nudges. Pay attention. But also ask: Is this truly for me? Or is it a projection of what someone else thinks I should be doing?

Your Message as Manifestation

Think of your messaging as an energetic declaration. Every landing page, post, or bio you write is a signal to the universe: This is who I am. This is what I stand for. This is who I serve.

Why not aim bigger then?

Even if you don’t yet know how to deliver your next-level idea… trust that it came to you for a reason.

Messaging can be the first step toward manifestation, a bold commitment that invites the right collaborators, opportunities, and clarity into your field.

One of the most vulnerable but powerful shifts you can make is releasing an old message or offer—even if you poured years of energy into it. That attachment to your former identity can prevent the next version of your brilliance from fully emerging.

Sometimes the hardest part of stepping into your future is letting go of the past version of success.

Beyond the Membership Trap

The traditional advice sounds simple: create a Facebook group, charge monthly fees, provide regular content, watch it grow. This cookie-cutter approach ignores a fundamental truth about human connection and transformation.

Real community creates spaces where your people connect with each other. They become resources for one another, not just passive recipients of your content. When people feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood by peers, they often discover parts of themselves they hadn't accessed before. Community creates change that solo programs can't replicate.

The shift from "how can I deliver more to my community?" to "how can I help my community members connect with each other?" transforms your role from content creator to connection facilitator.

Start Small, Trust Your Instincts

Entrepreneurs often try to build their "forever community" from day one. They get stuck perfecting the platform, the pricing, the onboarding sequence—and never actually start.

Build WITH your members, not FOR them. Don't waste time perfecting something in isolation. Get it out there. Share it with people. Allow it to help them. Evolve it with their input and suggestions. When you see something working, double down on it. Scratch what doesn't.

Perfecting it in your head serves no one—and often your best guess is flat wrong. You can't know what will bomb and what will take off until you road test it with actual members.

Start with a time-bound experiment instead.

Launch a 4-week focused group around helping participants achieve one specific goal related to your services. "4 weeks to clarity on your niche" or "Launch your first workshop in 30 days." Or try a half-day in-person retreat with follow-up sessions. Keep it small, keep it focused, see what happens.

Treat your first experiment as more than just a pilot program—design it as a place where your members can experience real progress and deeper understanding of themselves.

Design for results, but also for connection. Consider: What do you want your participants to walk away feeling? What would it mean for them to feel different, not just know more?

But here's the key: avoid the freemium trap that burns out so many community builders. Don't give away your best guidance for free and hope people upgrade. When members get transformation without investment, they rarely see the need to pay for more.

This approach delivers three things:

• Validation that people want what you're offering

• Feedback on how you actually enjoy facilitating

• Stories and case studies that prove your ability to spark real change

You don't need to know where this leads. You just need to know if you like it and if it works—and if it's creating the kind of change that's worth expanding.

Finding Your Community Sweet Spot

Not every business needs the same type of community. Your ideal model depends on your audience size and pricing—what I call the Reach/Revenue Matrix™.

With a smaller audience but higher-value services, an intimate cohort model works well. Think 12-15 people going deep together over several months, creating space for real reflection and genuine breakthroughs.

With a larger following and accessible pricing, a newsletter-based community on Substack could be perfect. Lower price point, connections happen in comments and discussions, and transformation unfolds over time through dialogue and shared learning.

Somewhere in between? Consider a tiered approach where people engage at different levels based on their needs and budget.

Match your community structure to your existing business reality. Don't force yourself into someone else's blueprint.

Your 30-Day Community Experiment

Ready to test the waters?

Week 1: Identify one specific outcome your ideal clients want to achieve in the next month. Something concrete and achievable.

Week 2: Create a simple landing page describing a 4-week focused group around that outcome. Include the dates, what you'll cover, and how people will connect with each other.

Week 3: Invite 8-12 people to join. Start with your warmest connections—people who already know and trust your work.

Week 4: Launch it. Show up fully, facilitate connections between participants, and pay attention to what energizes you and what doesn't.

After four weeks, you'll know more about community building than months of planning could teach you.

Community as Connection, Not Content

Stop thinking of community as another place to deliver content.

Start thinking of it as a place to facilitate connection, transformation, and belonging.

Your role isn't to be the constant source of wisdom. You're the connector, the question-asker, the person who helps others discover what they have to offer each other.

These moments of shared vulnerability and insight create real change—when someone speaks a truth out loud for the first time, or sees their story reflected in someone else. When people realize they're not alone in their struggles, they can move past the inner blocks that tactics alone can't solve. When you wrestle with ideas alongside others and practice living things out with feedback, you make progress that's impossible to achieve through DIY learning alone. These are the moments that turn members into genuine advocates.

When you create space for peer-to-peer learning, member-led discussions, and genuine relationship-building, your community becomes self-sustaining. People show up because of what they get from each other - not just what they get from you. That's when you know you've built something that lasts.

The Real Value of Community

Done right, community becomes the backbone of your business ecosystem. Not because it generates the most revenue (though it might), but because it creates something money can't buy: shared experiences, shifts in how people see themselves and what's possible, and genuine relationships with the people you're meant to serve.

Your community members become your best collaborators, your most thoughtful feedback providers, your enthusiastic referral sources.

They understand your work at a level that goes beyond transactional.

The communities that truly last are the ones where people experience real personal transformation. Not just through your curriculum - but through co-creation, support when things get hard, and opportunities to contribute meaningfully. When people actively participate and feel their voice matters, they develop new perspectives and capabilities.

This doesn't just benefit your individual members - it creates a virtuous cycle. As members transform, they become better contributors - sharing deeper insights, asking better questions, offering more thoughtful support to others. On a macro level, this collective wisdom is what sets thriving communities apart from static content.

People don't pay for more things to consume - they pay for real change. And nothing delivers transformation like a community where everyone's growth elevates everyone else's experience.

Facilitating this kind of transformational space is deeply rewarding - and will stretch you as a leader in ways you can't imagine. To sustain it, you need a model that aligns with the life you want to lead. That means finding the sweet spot between your natural gifts, what you genuinely enjoy, and what generates enough revenue to avoid burnout.

When you nail that alignment - when community taps into your zone of genius rather than draining your energy, you've found a winning strategy.

Start small, trust your instincts, and build something that works for both your members and your life. The best communities aren't built from someone else's blueprint. They're designed around the unique value, and transformational potential only you can provide.

A Gray Zone habit is something that doesn’t wreck your life, instead it slyly and quietly runs in the background. It’s a behavior you use to cope—mine was wine. For others it can be social media, online shopping, scrolling—without the obvious markers of addiction. You function. You perform. You lead. You excel. But you also know, deep down, something is out of alignment.

Gray Zone behaviors are subtle enough to be socially acceptable but pervasive enough to keep you stuck. I didn’t need rehab, but I wasn’t not thriving either. I was merely surviving. Maybe you are too? And in your multidimensional business and life, surviving is not the goal. Thriving is.

My Gray Zone Story

It was the longest day of my entire surgical technology career. Two brain surgeries scheduled at the same time, both requiring the system I was solely trained to operate. Three complex spine cases using the same sophisticated equipment. All day I was sprinting between rooms, systems malfunctioning, no food, no water, no help. By midnight, 17 hours in, I was exhausted and frazzled.

And here’s the twist: the only thing that had been keeping me going that very rough day was the promise of a glass—or three—of expensive wine when it was all over. But I never got that wine-my “reward”.

That night became Day 1 of my alcohol-free life. Not because I planned it.

Because I had no choice. I made it through the worst day of my career... without the reward I thought I needed. That day exposed the truth: I was depending on wine not to escape, but to “manage” my life. That’s what I mean by a Gray Zone.

Your Habit Isn’t the Problem. It’s a Symptom.

In my coaching practice, I see this all the time—especially with high-performing women. It’s not just wine. It’s nighttime scrolling, emotional eating, impulse spending. These behaviors aren’t the root issue. They’re signs something deeper is misaligned.

The brain wants to feel safe. When we’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from our purpose, it seeks relief. Gray Zone habits offer quick dopamine without real fulfillment. They’re comforting—but they’re not transforming.

Rewiring the Brain: The Science of Transformation

Your brain is capable of change—at any age. Neuroplasticity means that with consistent, intentional action, we can rewire thought patterns and build new default responses.

We start by understanding what parts of the brain are being activated, and then we use tools—like reframing thoughts, habit stacking, prayer practice, and mindset strategies—to redirect the brain’s response to stress and uncertainty.

Reframe. Retrain. Rewire.

One belief I had to rewire was: “Uncertainty is dangerous.” It kept me clinging to control and the “reward” of wine. I reframed it to: “Life is full of beautiful possibilities I can walk into.”

Daily repetition, curated prayers, writing, speaking it out loud, asking friends to remind me—it all rewired my brain. Now, uncertainty feels expansive, not threatening. That’s the power of mind-led neural sculpting.

Thriving in Your Multidimensional Business

If you’re building a multidimensional business, you cannot afford to carry habits that subtly drain your energy, clarity, and confidence.

Start by asking: What’s my Gray Zone? What do I reach for when I feel overwhelmed? What’s the real need underneath it?
